She kept in time with Inaré, granted it wasn't that difficult to follow even though she didn't know the dance. She did though, know a few parts, but she kept an eye on his signals to her for the next steps. When it came to the part of the song to freestyle, she moved faster across the floor twirling every now and then around Inaré causing her white dress to flare up a bit. In no time the dance was over.

She had a brilliant smile on her face loving the fact that she got to show some of what she could do again twisting and moving. "Thank you for the wonderful dace Inaré, you are an exceptional dancer. With practice you could give me a run for my money." she told him with a slight laugh. Kitsu then watch as he took off the beautiful stone from his chest and placed it on hers. It was memorizing and sparkled in the light thanking him greatly for such a wonderful gift.

It was then, a few moments later, that she notice his sad and apologetic stare. Kitsu didn't know why he was looking at her like that, but she couldn't help but feel that she was missing something important. She was about to ask when Inaré pulled out the dagger that had killed Zar's last bride and dropped it to the floor.

She knew what it meant; it was known by almost everyone as a sign of breaking a contract. Kitsu was confused not knowing exactly why he would break his contract. She was about to ask him to stay taking a step forward, but he disappeared in the crowed in the blink of an eye.

Kitsu then saw slight movement in her peripheral vision. Looking down, she saw that Zar had took the stone that Inaré had given her and pocket it. She didn't want to see it get taken, but she didn't want to argue about it.

She then followed Zar back with a soft sigh sitting back in her seat next to him. Kitsu just watched as food was starting to be brought out and set before them. She didn't really feel like eating as she was preoccupied in her thoughts wondering why Inaré was saddened.

To distract her and calm her thoughts, Kitsu picked up the cherry blossom that was given to her thinking that it's sent would help as most flowers did.

Bringing it up to her nose she smelt the sweet sent of the flower, but as she did a shocked went up and down her body causing her to slip out of her chair falling to the floor on her knees. She held her head keeping her eyes tightly shut as she rocked back and forth gently whimpering in pain her head swimming with thoughts of him, his touch, his hair, his voice.

Kitsu silently screamed as the pain got worse feeling as if electricity was flowing throughout her body.

He sat in darkness, an act that was not unfamiliar to him, as he stared into the only sort of light that attempted and failed to push back the darkness more then a few feet. The mirror of polished steel sat in the corner of the room at an angle giving the observer the best view of the room. Or at least it would give such a vantage point should the viewer not be using it in the fashion Puv'dhol was currently employing it. Instead of the room, the mirror's surface showed a ballroom scene. A hand passed before the image nearly causing it to go black and obscure everything. It was clear from the hands passage that the view was through 'someone's' eyes, that someone was actually a daemon from within his house one he had sent there specifically for this purpose.

She was a beautiful creature in appearance, the dreams of men molded in the form of flesh. Her figure was a delight to behold, much as the castle that she now stood in was. She had long slender arms and legs, both of which were accentuated by the ball gown she wore a thing more risque then the current fashion. With sleeves that went only down to her elbows and slit in the dress down from her hip to the bottom of the dress that ended just past her knees her creamy flesh was revealed enticingly. She had long white hair that tumbled down her shoulders and back, laying upon them like freshly fallen snow upon a mountain top. Her face was characterized by high cheek bones, tuft like thick eyebrows the same color as her hair, eyes the yellow of a bird of prey's, skin nearly the color of her hair, full thick sultry lips colored blackish-blue that only the freezing cold could color flexh, and a small hooked nose.

She had garnered and still was getting, looks from nearly all the men in the ball room despite having tried to stay within the shadows and keep a low profile. Her hands slowly petted the head and back of a cat like creature that sat within her arms. Her hand stopped every few minutes to allow her fingers with their opal'esencent fingernails to scratch behind the daemonic cats ears causing it to let out a great purr. Hi view of the room rose as she did and the perspective changed as she slowly started to walk through the crowd of lords and ladies towards Zardozr at the head table where he sat with his new bride. The crowd swirled about her but parted as easily as leaves in a tree did for a stiff breeze.

Her approach was evident by the swish of her black dress as she walked and the soft clack of her black leather heeled slippers upon the marble floor. As she neared the head of the line of lords and ladies paying their respects to the newly weds, she gave a sultry smile to the two men at the head of the line, likely father and son from their appearance, and watched as they stepped back to let her speak in front of them, a fact that only the women in the line started to mumble and grouse about. She bent her knees curtsying to both Zardozr and his new wife, Queen Kitsu, with a bow of her head. Her chest was brought forward with the motion, an obviously well practiced gesture, that gave a good view of some of her rather large assets. Lifting her head she gave the two a rather genuine smile considering the source. Her curtsy lasted for only a few more moments then necessary before rising to her full height, a thing that was far from impressive.

"I bring greetings and well wishes from the House of Shadows, Lor- ah my pardon, King Zardozr. And to you Queen Kitsu. Lord Piere was unable to attend due to the stress of putting together the magic to bring forth the events that led to this Castle appearing here and the necessity to prepare a gift for your bride so suddenly. He sends his apologies and congratulations both. He would offer you as gift King Zardozr, any one magical favor that does not put he or his house in danger." she said, her voice a breezy almost inaudible thing that attempted to caress the ears of those that listened to it. Placing the creature she held in her arms upon the tale, she continued the obviously prepared speech. "To your wife he offers the gift of this Xal'ax. It is a breed of cat that has demonic blood running through its veins. It is more ferocious then its current size would indicate, especially considering its other form is close to the size of a large lynx. It is slightly more intelligent then a mortal hound and more loyal. In fact it has been enchanted to guard you and your blood line Queen Kitsu. It will attack any creature that threatens you openly and any creature you order it to. You can also order it to leave off an attack. Besides that the enchantment doesn't force it to follow any other orders."

Pub'dhol smiled slightly as he heard the demoness' words as they were true... with the exception of himself that is. He would never give such a gift the ability to be used against himself. The fact that he could look and listen through the xal'ax, was a product of other magics and not the enchantment laid upon the beast, so that had been all truth. Xal'ax looked much like black house cats when not angered, protecting something or hunting. In fact the only noticable difference was crimson red pads for their paws and longer then normal teeth and fangs. However when they were angered protecting something or hunting prey they showed proof of their demonic ancestry. They grew to the size of large lynxes and sprouted porqupine like quills the same color as their fur. Small horns would sprout from their heads perhaps three inches above their eyes. Their teeth, fangs and claws were all longer then the average length for a lynx but not so long as to impede their movements. Their eyes would change in color so that all but the pupil of their eyes were blood red. Its tail would increase slightly in length and gain a prehensil dexterity, that could prove greatly useful. It had none of the magics of most magical beings but was still a fearsome creature, one that should not be messed with lightly as it could gain the power of a creature twice its size when transformed. Perhaps even three times if it had tasted enough blood and was in a frenzy. And it was as agile as a mongose when it struck.

Puv'dhol listened on as the demoness gave one further comment and then waited for their reply. "It is my lords hope that such presents are favorable to you both aand that they make up for his absence here." As she spoke the xal'ax slowly padded across the table to sniff Kitsu's hand before licking and nuzzling it.

It simply seemed destined that zardozr was never going to have a happy and uneventful wedding day. Was it too much to ask that he and his new wife have a night of celebration and merriment? Inare breaking contract here in front of everyone was bad enough, zardozr could handle the loss of his second strongest ally if he must but doing it here in front of everyone during the wedding celebration was simply bad taste. It seemed as soon as they had moved on from one bad situation he was almost immediately confronted with another as he watched with worry as Kitsu clutched her head in obvious pain.

The first terrifying thought that came to his mind was that the one who had killed Talia had struck again despite all of his precautions. His most powerful ally was even now offering them both gifts and he could not spare the time to respond, could do nothing but make sure Kitsu was going to be okay.

In an instant he was there kneeling beside her, his head close to hers as he searched out her eyes and looked for any sort of sign that might indicate what was bothering her. He could find no signs that anything was physically wrong, and as far as he could tell she had not so much as touched her food or drink so it could not be poison.....unless the poison had been upon the flower that he had seen her bring to her nose only moments before.

A gift from an unfamiliar Lord who had left shortly after....how could he have been such a fool! He was in a panic now as he shook her gently and then lifted her face to lock gazes with her, doing his best to remain calm and collected on the outside.

"Kitsu can you hear me, are you alright?"

Default Re: The Royal Castle

((OOC: I know this is late, and I'm sorry! As such, I won't rock the boat in the past tense.))

Truesdale was scarcely bothered by the short hold-up at the gate. Sure, had he tucked Kazid'hea back into his body, there would've been no issue at all about him being armed, but he bore the blade in full form as a matter of pride: something told him that he would want to show off this fabulous sword which seemed he seemed to belong as much to as the blade did to him at times. He truly loved Kazid'hea, and was one of the only things he was truly devoted to...but now there was another in the latter department. As for the former...well, 'twas a different love betwixt he and The Prophet......

At seemingly long last, since the Eladrin's patience was somewhat short, they arrived at the wedding. There was much to behold upon entry, and thus Truesdale looked about passively, attempting to take in all of the visual and audio stimuli in pieces at a time. It was really quite impressive; mayhap he would have to contract the designers for this opulent occasion someday. He could only hope(!)

He wasn't fully sure of what Annas's plans were, but he knew that should the urge grip him to do something rash, he would do it. This feeling of his was reassured when he felt Annas's sheepish caress upon his shoulders, hearing the comment "whatever happens, happens". The boy couldn't resist a quick retort: "aye, but I'll also make something happen". With this, Truesdale put on a grin - one of those smiles which caused one's eyes to close as the corners of their lips attempted to reach them. It was sincere, not only with regard to Truesdale's desire for excitement, but also of the affection he holds for his...partner?

He followed The Prophet closely as he made his way to the king. Along the way, he had half-closed his eyes, thinking there was nothing of interest as of yet. After a number of paces, he began to hear the whispers; people had recognised Annas, for better or for worse. No, for worse. Truesdale shrugged the first few off, but as they kept coming, an idea struck him: he opened his eyes and looked over at the man who had just said "they should never have let him in".

Though it was short-lasting, Truesdale's gase was compelling enough to draw the man's eyes. With a big smirk, he gave the man a wink. He and some of the spectators around him were put off by this, particularly the careless air about the apparent youngling who dared trot behind the harbinger of destruction within The Realm. Had Truesdale cared what they thought, he wouldn'tve done it; as it were, however...

As he continued his carefree trek behind Annas, eyes again half-closed, Truesdale made his way past Inare. He didn't hear what the man had said to his beloved Kazid'hea, but somehow he knew that he'd said something - this caused him to dart a sharp glance in his direction. He turned back to face forward soon after, but thought to himself, "so there may be some people worth noting after all. What're the odds?"

But about Kazid'hea's potential desire to defect: at this point, it would likely be an impossibility. The blade was once dedicated to appealing to, and joining with, the most powerful warrior he could find. This may still be the case, but was difficult to tell - every warrior that Truesdale had come across who was comparable in strength was slain by him. Kazid'hea, perhaps, has come to expect such things, and would thus give his boy the benefit of the doubt. But there was something else. This boy was...different.

Most view Kazid'hea as a tool; rightly so, perhaps, because that is how he has always viewed his wielders. But Truesdale...Truesdale truly loves him, as if they were best friends, or the Eladrin had sworn his devotion to him. He always does everything he can to satisfy him, and quickly ceases offensive acts, such as wielding another primary implement for spells. The final blow was always granted to the blade...willingly.

He consented to having the flat side of his blade modified as a result: normally he'd only change his hilt to lure in new masters...but he wanted to stay with Truesdale for a while, and thus turned this part of himself to resemble a Unicorn's horn as well. It was a new concept to Kazid'hea, being loved. And this companionship betwixt himself and his holder was something he wanted to keep until he grew bored of it. That would likely come in a long time, considering how long the blade has been around - a few years was nothing to him. And then there was Truesdale's many innovations, such as sacrificing his own blood in exchange for a flurry of magic missiles, or fusing Kazid'hea's handle into his arm, giving him access to Truesdale's bloodstream. And especially his choice, though in a stupor, to merge bodies with the blade. So long as Truesdale kept things dynamic, why would Kazidhea ever wish to leave him? In a few centuries perhaps, but never sooner......

Annas had made it to whom Truesdale could only assume were the bride and groom. The former was a complete stranger, and with his interest in fashion, could not help but notice that she was looking particularly posh. He thought she must've felt very special, for surely she did not normally dress so well, as the occasion called for this outfit. It was judgemental, but far as he could tell, Truesdale was the only one in his day-to-day garb, and if his own opinion were considered, he looked just as fancy, if not more so, than most of the guests in attendance.

Then there was the groom. Yes, they'd nearly had a tussle in the Temple. He was honestly a bit disappointed that he could not have fought the crew, but with at least two in attendance, perhaps he'd get his chance. The necromancer did not appear to be about. Whilst awaiting Annas to move on, Truesdale closed his eyes and attempted, with the aid of his blade, to sniff out any other powerful entities in the crowd. Of course, they never once recognised any scents, but there were a few: though they did not know it, they'd sniffed out the Red Baroness, Calevarious's daughter(?), and one other...the smell was so faint, though!"

He couldn't keep the thoughts out of his mind, and was wrapped up with them 'til the present, even if he had the presence of mind to note the magnificence of the lady Kitsu's circlet. He had a crown of his own, and perhaps it was much more meaningful as it had become the physical manifestation of Pestilence, whose consciousness rests within Truesdale's own mind, but he felt the thing deserved his attention. "Pretty." He had actually neglected to take a look at it when Annas was procuring it, and this was thus his first time gazing upon it. What a sight to behold!

Truesdale still contended that the greatest beauty came from destruction; with this in mind, his thoughts naturally returned to the people of power about him, wondering what he should do should none make the first move.

Oona so loved spending time with her people, though it was somewhat bitter-sweet this time around - she was unable to interact with anyone so long as she cloaked herself. She'd told her brothers to keep an ear open for any news to pass on to her, but hadn't heard any for a few days. She returned to the camp, still cloaked, feeling somewhat chipper to see some of her beloved people alive and well. She liked her plan, though it was a bit dangerous; at least it was ready to be executed as-needed.

When Oona returned, she was astonished to discover that there was a wedding to take place betwixt her beloved ally, Zardozr, and Kitsu, whom she knew so little about. To have this happen so quickly after the last marriage was somewhat un-settling, but then again, was not the last marriage political? And certainly Zardozr was innocent - he would have gotten something from it had he decided to have her killed. Such was not the case this time, not to Oona, at least. And she felt that Zar was being completely honest when he asked for her help in apprehending the murderer: why else would he have insisted upon seeing her in person?

During the preparation for the wedding, Oona passively helped out. It was easy maintaining her un-detectable state whilst she used her anti-magic for simple tasks like increasing the health and longevity of the flowers, and even causing a few of the buds she saw to bloom. Somehow she felt a bit of giddiness over the situation. She never saw herself getting married, and perhaps she wasn't interested; the thought existed in her brain that she was happy for Zardozr because she'd harboured some feelings for him. Regardless of whether or not that was the case, she certainly never thought that a relationship between them that was anything beyond platonic would be possible. At least she could be happy for him, whether she'd ever want to get married or not.

When The Prophet entered, she didn't notice, but when he split the crowd - that was an attention-grabbing sight. She noticed a well-dressed creature of Fey origin, though of a much taller race than Oona's own (even if shorter than humans), trotting behind him. The sword, the air about him, the eyes which she'd caught notice of before he closed them...there was something entrancing about this boy. She soon after went about her business, listening in on people and observing others, though his movements were actively inquired about in the back of her mind.

When the boy had begun sniffing at the air with his magic, she felt a tug - Oona sensed that he was doing this, and it was quite alarming. What if he detected her? In the moment that she'd lost focus, again maintaining her cloak but with her anti-magical energies starting to leak, he was able to catch a whiff of her; before he could catch another though, she suppressed her anti-magic with all her might. She was unsure if the manoeuvre was wholly successful - though he may have only caught her once, that alone may have proved fatal. Only time would tell.

Landing before them she leaped off Golly's back. Stepping forward moving gracefully she stopped before the woman waiting. "Do I owe this destruction to you?" Red asked as she lay her hand on her sword hilt. "You only destroyed material objects I saw." The many families and town folk had already long since headed to Dragon Home Castle. They would be watched for by Dillon. Knowing there were too many to fight. But for the fact Golly was larger by far then their dragons did not make it any better.

Knowing her men were following was the reason she plastered a smile on her lips. "I have not attacked a soul. Yet I have armies on my land. I have had a town attacked. "Why?" She asked the woman simply.

Ariadne barely blinked as the massive crimson dragon landed before her. He must have been very old, even among the maulrocs which were the lords of the dragons. Only an older dragon grew to such a size, and possessed such a strength. That was one of their benefits...dragons did not wither with age, they grew stronger. For how long, no one knew save perhaps themselves...for all they knew, a dragon could live forever, becoming ever stronger. The only dragon they had at the Palace comparable in size and age was Miriel, and she was off in the Vamistra and out of contact. Still, with twenty-plus dragons of their own, it would not matter how large the red one was. They would still kill him.

But they were not planning to kill him, or his rider.

"Yes, you may thank us for that, or not. We spared the people because it is not honorable to slay innocents. Nor would our old contract have allowed us to do so even had we the low morals to do so.

No, you have not attacked. As for the reason - politics, Baroness. Just plain politics. My counterpart, whom I believe you spoke to earlier, has just finished conducting an investigation. What he has found is the reason why I did not order my air force to slay you on sight. Rather than a gift to zardozr, perhaps accompanied by your head...instead, Celion provided a beacon to draw you out, so that you may be informed of the situation as would befit a deep friend of Kitsu.

The marriage of the Lady Kitsu and Lord Zardozr has been performed this very night. Inaré wished to believe it to be genuine, but instead he saw evidence of magical tampering with her mind to cause her to love him. As a result, zardozr has placed us in the position of having to choose either his side or another, and nothing in the middle.

Thus, my purpose is two-fold. One, to tell you of this development in case you had not heard. And two, to inform you that our contract with zardozr is broken, and we now have no preferential treatment in his favor. Our options are open....as are yours."

The implication was clear, or so Ariadne hoped....

The pain had gotten worse, but then, just as suddenly as it had come, it left leaving behind a slight headache, a groggy tired feeling and her head in a fog. It also left behind something else; a forgotten urge, a desire that was lost somewhere in all this.

She then heard a voice. It was distant and far off, but after awhile, she heard that the voice was Zar's and a woman's as it broke through the fog in her mind. The woman was explaining her gift, but Zar had asked her if she was alright. Kitsu could tell he was worried by the tone of his voice as she opened her eyes and placed on of her hands on top of his.

"I'm fine, I-I don't know what happened." she said confused and in a slight daze.

She then felt something brush up against her hand and lick it gently with a sandpaper like tongue. Getting back up in her seat, she smiled softly picking up the cat-like creature, gingerly petting it from head to tail listening to it purr gently as she thought about him.

The episode seemed to have passed for now, though zardozr was still more worried than he was allowing himself to show. A sudden onset of pain like that was in no way normal and he was worried for Kitsu, for whatever else he may have done he did love her. It might be best if they simply retired for the night now, though zardozr knew that would be a squandering of the political opportunity this party presented.

"Just say the word and we shall retire for the evening, my love. The guests would understand and would probably simply write it off as our eagerness to get to the wedding bed, so fear not about disappointing them if you wish us to retire." Zardozr said in a whisper to her as he helped her back into her seat and sat beside her before turning his attention back to the demoness before him.

"We thank the House of Shadows for its most thoughtful of gifts and invite you to take a place here at the high table. It saddens me that your Lord could not come himself but I understand all too well the demands of leadership and of course hold no ill will against him. The feat he and your people preformed to bring the Castle here was nothing less than spectacular and it is a testament to your peoples strength and our friendship."

As the demoness went to take her seat zardozr absently pet the Xal'ax as more people made their way forward to offer gifts and fealty. Each of the Ordos had sent forward a representative of their own accord to offer gifts and swear fealty to Kitsu, an act that impressed zardozr considering he had not even been aware it had been planned.

The Ordo Libri representative brought forward a book for each of them, an old journal of Sutekh for zardozr and an ancient book about white necromatic magics for Kitsu. Both of the books were extremely rare and for the Libri to part with them was a great sign of their sincerity.

The Ordo Lectus representative brought forth a single gift for the both of them, a potion that when ingested would give them hours of endless energy. The woman suggested that they use it tonight when they left the party, which caused a round of good natured laughing from many listening.

The knights of the Malleus who came forward presented them with a pair of matching lockets, reputedly made by the mighty Pierce himself. They explained that as long as each of them kept their locket close to them that they would always have a sense of the others well being. If one of them needed the other then they would know, and they would know how to find each other.

Once the gifts had been given the representatives of the Ordos all kneeled before Kitsu and declared their loyalty and allegiance to her, and in so doing the loyalty and allegiance of their Orders.

Staring at Ariadne, Red raised a brow. "So he did do it. He took her mind over to marry her. I knew he would show his true colors. I spoke of this at the Conclave. No one believed. None cared. He is a true evil in this realm and finally they are listening??" Spinning on her heals and pacing. "I tried to warn them. I told them time and again. Now Kitsu pay's the price. Every one around him is marked with the black spot of death. Even your Inare. The Panther Demon he sports about is also...though he is strong soon he will also be marked for death. Never trust a silver tongued devil like Zardozr. He was instrimental in dividing the realm making it easy for them to destroy it. He laughs at us all. I personally lost many friends in that Rebellion he calls it. NO it was open War. His cruelty had to be stopped by any means we could find." Moving faster her cloak whipping about behind her.

"I offered Inare twice what Zardozr is paying him. I will triple it and give him half of Zardozr's lands. I do not want them. The rest is up to those who want to fight the Demon's for them." Stopping she walked back to Ariadne. "Dear lady do not get me wrong, I do not want him dead. I want him in a dungeon where he has to think daily on what he has done. What he has lost. What he will never have. He took the lives of so many. Yet he continues to do so. He is a murderer. Most like that young girl was a set up to get more killed. He wanted my head for her murder. No I had nothing to do with her death. I feel pitty for her life being lost. Just another of his puppets." Brushing her fingers over her eyes.

"My offer stands, tell him. We must stop this evil in our realm. Only then might there be peace." Red said as she looked at the woman before her. "Oh by the way. Keep those scaley friends from him or he will make armor from them. It is what he did to Lady Octiva's Dragon, after he controlled her mind, and made her kill a youngling dragon, and nearly myself. What he would do with old Golly here." She said as she reached up and tapped his huge shoulder.

"Isn't that right my dear Golly?" Spinning once more, she looked into the eyes of the woman before her. "Know this, if we do not catch him soon, there will be no place to hide. His magic grows strong, soon he will not be stopped, and then where will we be?"
